The Seattle Kingdome was a multi-purpose stadium home to the Seahawks and Mariners. In the 1990’s, voters approved two new stadiums to replace the Kingdome.
From February 2000 to May 2002, my Kingdome Cam captured pictures and video of the Kingdome’s demolition as well as some of the construction of the new stadium. My webcam was located about 230 feet away from the Kingdome (see the red marker on the map).
The Implosion
March 26, 2000 at 8:32 AM – Turner Construction implodes the Kingdome. I watched the implosion from the Bank of America Tower thanks to an invitation from Al Charpentier.
